Female Signs

Female signs – a plenty!

For the purpose of denoting the sex of a life form or characterizing an agent by gender, a symbol called the ‘gender symbol’ is used. Both male and female signs are derived from astrological symbols. The male symbol denotes the planet Mars whereas the female symbol denotes Venus. These symbols have been in use since the Renaissance period. Sometimes they’re used to identify elements in alchemy, particularly the metals iron and copper. It was as early as the year 1951 that Carolus Linnaeus first used these signs to denote gender of plants. Since most plants are hermaphroditic, symbols identified sex of individuals in a crossbreed. Since the 1990s, numerous variations of gender symbols have been used and developed for LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender), some of these symbols being adopted into Unicode beginning with version 4.1. A double symbol sign, for example, is sometimes used as a female homosexual symbol. An inter-locked male and female sign is used to denote a heterosexual individual.

Among the female signs of attraction, we have the signs of female interest that include smiling and laughing. Head tossing and stretching are popular symbols showing the individual female is interested in the person or the conversation. Sometimes protruding chest or shoulders back denote the same thing. Averting gaze downwards, flashing wrists, hair flip and neck presentation are a few other symbols. One of the most popular ones is the head akimbo after or with a laugh.

Mixed solicitation and avoidance may be the messages sent through signals by females. Their objective is to appear sultry and not slutty in any public gathering. Women have signs which mean they want their partner to be re engaged in conversation. Some of these are giggles, touching, repeated glances every couple of minutes, etc. Sometimes when they hold eye contact from a distance for a few seconds or smile at you, they want you to get back to conversing with her. Standing nearby or interrupting or reacting to someone’s conversation from nearby are also female signs denoting the same message? Turning the body towards the conversant or brushing against him while passing are indications of re initiating a conversation. Often, talking to a friend when they giggle, asking unimportant questions like the time and talking more when you’re around are female signs you should pick up.

Some of the female signs are quite popular and are to be taken as the girl is flirting or is interested in the person. Sometimes when in a bar, if a girl waits for you when you go to the bathroom, or stays even though her other friends go to use the washroom, she’s trying to show interest in you. Coming around to say she’s leaving on her way out, asking where you’re going when you leave and not flinching if you move too close, are some other signs. Often we see that girls/ladies try to isolate men and invent reasons to be with them. These are all female signs of flirting and in some cases of looking for a mate.
